Whatever happened to ‘Hoffmaniada’ and ‘O Apostolo’?

May 8, 2011

I am no expert on international animation such as works from Russian or Czech countries. I very ocassionally in the past have heard of Hoffmaniada a feature length Stop Motion film which has been in production for some years but has had financial backing difficulties (no money!). The high production values and quality of this Stop Motion feature is just as good as anything coming out of England or USA but we never get to see this? Also, remember the Stop Motion feature O Apostolo? That was produced in Spain and I they made change during production to shoot it in 3D Stereo. I believe that has been completed but will we ever see that here in USA or on Dvd or on cable/satellite?

    Hi all,
O apostolo looks amazing, I would like to say the film is mainly in Galician, not Spanish, like the link about Annecy. I can’t wait to watch the film.

Hey Lio, pretty sure Hoffmaniada ran into budget issues but was re-financed recently. So they are working on finishing it up. I can’t wait, but it probably won’t reach US shores for a long time.

Someone sent me this about O Apostolo … will be shown at Annecy (link is in Spanish) …

Other inside buzz I received … it’s still in post production and the film festival version will not be in 3D

  4. O Apostolo will be release at the Annecy Fest.

Good question Stopmo Sleuth! I keep the O Apostolo site bookmarked – looks great but it doesn’t say anything about it being finished.
I just watched the trailer for Hoffmaniada here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJVNnAv2wEk
