A Stop Motion Fan ‘Regular Guy’, does Ray Harryhausen Tribute

January 10, 2013

No Peter Jackson, George Lucas, James Cameron, Spielberg here. All of course, long time ago completely abandoned Stop Motion & much of Traditional Special Effects We gots CGI up the wha-zoo … excess-o-rama. Now that audiences are dulled by it, the same ol formula & homogenized look/style, the suits & directors have been escalating and hoping 3D Stereo is suppose to attract the audiences. If that doesn’t work, now they are cranking up the film speed to 48 frames per second or more, such as what P. Jackson is doing with The Hobbit. All I can say is BORING eye candy that loses it’s appeal real fast. What’s next ’smell sensory cinema or holograms? I very much DISLIKE (as in, IT SUCKS) this 21st century and the crap going on in general (not just movies). It’s brain frying congested & stressful. I want to go back to the more Sane & Simpler times. Anyway, here is just a guy commenting about Ray Harryhausen ….

Also, if you have not seen this, about 2-1/2 years ago when Uncle Ray turned 90 years. A simple but very genuine heartfelt tribute ….

Cool tribute. But There will be other Ray Harryhausen’s.

As long as they stay devoted to their cause and keep the purpose of their passion alive, yes, there will be. ;)

  3. grecodan says:

Yeah, very heartfelt and true, but I think he’s wrong there at the end. Still, a nice tribute.

  4. grecodan says:

That David Conover piece, however, is beautiful.

Now I gotta go get this dust outta my eyes…

  5. drew says:
