Stop Motion Rankin/Bass Holiday ads for Bing Search Engine
December 5, 2011
This appears to be pretty much, all for real hand made stop motion … another batch of Christmas flavored ads/spots ….
Of course these kind of Holiday/Christmas Stop Motion ads conjures up lots of nostalgic feelings and I’m just posting here because ‘Tis the Season’
, however, many of us Stop Motion practitioners look at this unique animation art/craft as much more advanced and powerful creative tool for animation & effects work. I am hoping these retro styled stop motions does not further reinforce to the public, the false perception that stop motion is ‘out of date antiquated’. It has been my constant job as a strong Stop Motion advocate, to dispel that and counter the mainstream media’s & tinsel town’s bias against stop motion.
Tactilely hands-on created by Bent Image Labs in the state of Oregon USA. In the past Bent Image has created similar Holiday ads for other clients. Ads to appear on TV & theaters Bing hitches holiday hopes to Rudolph the reindeer

Those spots are amazingly well done! The look is very much like the originals and are a very nice complement. BRAVO!
Interesting to see classic stop motion being produced for Bing (which is owned by Microsoft). I would have expected the ads to be entirely in CGI. Pleasant surprise indeed.
