Stop Motion Events & Stuff: FRED Premiere in L.A. and Montreal Stop Motion Festival

Press release …. What is FRED? FRED is a 6.5 minute short animated film, or in the words of the Portland Monthly:
LAIKA (Coraline) alum Misha Klein, whose credits also include Celebrity Deathmatch and Robot Chicken, spent 10 years tinkering with the film, but wrapped it in at Portland’s Studio 13, and then allegedly took a long-deserved nap on the floor. The lead puppet, Fred, is a reluctant stage performer, harried by an angry boss and riddled with his own self-doubt. With the comic pathos of a hobo clown, Fred anguishes over his stage-fright and awaits his cue. Will the show go on?
Other notes: Free to public and there will be an introduction by the director ‘El Mish-masho’ and a Q/A after. The film will loop several times, so you are encouraged to stay in the theater and watch it again and again, or share a beer in the patio with all of Misha’s peoples.

Entries for 2010. The festival premiere will be October 29, 30, & 31 in Montreal, Canada. Great to see that Misha’s had a chance to get back to Fred and finish it, I remember seeing a few shots from it on the net a while back. That was some stunning character animation!
